Actually,my girlfriends has a pic that has the real hand in it.
Sometimes itΒ΄s hard to trust in the DD officialΒ΄s sane judgement since this is a mere and quite common practise piece for every artist...

Oh I got the point very well,rest assured.Please donΒ΄t you take what I said as an offense,itΒ΄s just that IΒ΄ve seen that concept of a motive about a hundred times.
And since I do not find this one very special at all, neither in terms of excution nor of composition nor..anything else,plus aforesaid "thesis-character" the general concept has to me,I simply have to doubt the judging abilities of those giving DDs.
Especially since the first page of your gallery alone already contains over half a dozen of works that would REALLY deserve a DD.
But ok,thatΒ΄s my own opinion.

I myself am not that keen on the painting, but I can't find any other similar work that deals in regression through time or the history of a painting being painted, there may well be but I did look before painting it. I am considering a version using the self portrait as the focus which may work better. As for the judging of awards that is a mystery. I have been a judge for various awards and usually none of the judges can agree so they choose something so dull that no one has strong feelings about it...
