Description
Mouse Painting in Paint Shop Pro. About 10 hours.Fourth in the Eternal Series [link] and this one is of the earth element in action. If you're going to ask how that is earth magic, don't even bother and look closer instead
And just so you know... it's barely possible for a mortal to turn their limbs to stone using Riigan magic!
Edit 2: The reference photo was taken off dA... but it was of ~OpenMindedEloquence .

DAH POWAH!
That's a cool looking arm tattoo. Some tattoos are pretty lame, but these arm tattoos I like allot. They give off the impression of energy being channeled through the arm; basically doing what Evan's doing, I think.

The body looks awesome. Great job. Turning to stone? It must be a snake bite curse from the evil Negamonster Dream Dolly! lol

Very nice work.
So . . . he just basically turns himself into sandy muddy material? How's that supposed to help him?

Nope, it's an innocent question.

Read the Artist Comments: "And just so you know... it's barely possible for a mortal to turn their limbs to stone using Riigan magic!"
Not only can humans not turn themselves to STONE, but they cannot turn themselves into a "sandy muddy material". I don't know where you got mud from. Even if it was possible, its uses would be limited. Turning your skin to stone prevents you from moving. Turning your entire hand to stone would cause blood clots and such internal damage. Turning your organs to stone is essentially a deathwish The Eternal Series are for looks, not for practical purposes.
Does that answer your query?

"The Eternal Series are for looks, not for practical purposes."
That pretty much answered it, yes.

Still have that mouse, do you?
I love how the lighting has that blinding but soft effect on the whole picture. Beautiful and captivating.

Wow. I am quite new to your gallery, but I can say that compared to your other Eternal pieces, this one is much more sophisticated in terms of lighting and overall quality. Awesome!

I love how it looks like I can gaze into his eyes, they hold me there, and it's quite a powerful effect. The swirling designs around him and on his body look really neat, I feel like it really adds to the magic because he's pulling everything in around him. It's awesome Trejim ^_^

Nicely done it is actually kinda cool to compare to the reference photo. Get to see a little bit of how you base your drawings and what aspects you take from the reference.

Wow, that's a hellova lotta work for 10 hours
Nice job though, I love the magic, it's almost as if you could touch (and doubtless it would hurt to do so )

hehe I think I saw a WIP of this one! XP (which was a lot more colorful by the way) And I know why it's earth magic too muhahaha well I must say it's much more difficult to see his rocky hand here...
It's all grey-ish now!
I love all the effects and the tatoo-like everywhere!
it also look like he is carrying a kind of invisible crystal/stone/diamond thing in his hand!
Evan is a love how can't I fav this? XD

It's damn impressive that you did this with a mouse.
And it's damn impressive regardless of the medium. I love it, it's, uh, you know, pretty damn impr- amazing

You make me jealous... In a good way.
Very nice piece. You always do such good works. I might have to try doing one of these... but I fear my attention span wont make it through to the end. Of course, I'll give it a try once my tablet comes in. I think if I used a mouse for art that long, my shoulder would fall off...
I agree with one of the other comments. The tattoo is very nicely done. Blends into the skin, instead of being a big black blob (which is what I have seen other people do). Very nice work, as usual from you.

A good kind of jealous? You mean inspiration?
I don't always do good works... I only show the works I think are of acceptable quality Thanks mate!

Tesunie In reply to treijim [2009-04-28 06:14:28 +0000 UTC]
The kind of jealous that makes me want to get off my own butt and do this kinda stuff. I know I can do it... if I can get my attention span to last long enough/ take the time to do it...
Acceptable quality? Trust me. This would be WAY above acceptable quality. Your trash is probably better (quality) than my best...
(My art isn't bad, it is just different from yours is all. Though I wouldn't mind to be able to at least DO the kind of stuff you make if I felt like it.)
