I'm so early but..whatever.
I kept fiddling with the colours on this too- im still not satisfied either but WHATEVER. I can deal X3

Rehema and ...mystery girl... as teenagers~ Yes that is blood. This doesn't need mature content does it?

I shouldn't have let her do this... She was one of the only ones who ever meant anything to me and yet...
"Shh..." She smiles at me weakly, trying to silence my whimpers. "It's alright... I did it for you."

My paws tremble as I try to keep my grip on her, I won't let death take her from me. "You can't leave me.." My voice was failing me but I speak out, ignoring my burning tears.

She smiles at me again before coughing, crimson staining her soft, grassy fur.

My body becomes rigid and I stop breathing, watching her every move and holding her close. Blood drips down her chin and she whispers something in my ear.

"I'm sorry..."

With shivering breath she falls limp, never to open those beatiful amber eyes again...

Eyes cold, I had no heart to deal with my brother's immaturity at the moment. I slumped down beside the jungle waterhole and gripped the earth with my claws.
"I will never forget her... and I will never..let any one be taken from me again."

As the theme asks I created a story which explains the reasons for Rehema's actions and feelings for Uru in the future (this scene was set way before he met her).
His deep feelings (either romantic or maternal) for the girl he loses to sevre injury cause him to develop an imensely protective nature. Uru reminds him of her and he won't let anything hurt her. Upon first meeting Uru he is incredibly hostile. "She's just like her." The thought could have raced through his mind and the pain of her leaving him brought back all at once. When Uru scratches him it brings him back out of those memories, reminding him of what's happened since then. He grows to treasure those scars, just as he treasures hermemory. He will not forget. But that doesn't mean he can't move on...~
