Skirmish Type Autonomous Superior Core: Designated: Yokai
The Yokai was the first ASC designed without human input, being produced in MASC factories after the machine intelligence took control of the factories and started the war. Its bizarre design has led to few theories concerning the logic behind its design/construction.
The first theory is that it is a preexisting design stored within the MASC database, and it was simply put into production out of almost habit, as a combat ready unit while the machine was still adapting to war on Earth.
Theory two states that it is an experimental design made using materials that were unfamiliar to the machine and the Yokai was just its first successful design using Earth materials.
The final theory states that it is essentially a junk design, meant simply as a outlet for any human influence on the machine intelligence, and a design that it can reliably recycle our fallen/captured cores into.
The third theory seems most likely based on the sheer numbers in which Yokai are deployed, making up for their lackluster armour and weapons with speed and numbers, both in combat and production rate. Be wary, if you encounter one, because there is never only one.
