So yeeeah, I've been noticing this a lot recently. I start out totally excited about the picture, then I realize all the mistakes and by the end I think it's the worst thing ever. And everytime I look at my work, it looks worse. I think my issue is that it's me looking at my work, and I'm my own worst critic ^_^;;; I think it's a lot like looking at oneself: it's hard to see yourself how other people see you. Same with art. I never know if people are just being nice, or if it's ACTUALLY good.So, decided to draw a dramatized version of my "creative process: enthusiasm, realization, anger, tears ^_^;; And this only usually happens when I draw full-blown pictures, sooo drawing comics is kind of a revival for me, heh ^_^;;
Also, I'm sure there's some deep meaning that can be read into this, but I sure didn't put it there
I just like writing things to make people laugh! Despite the goofy, I still think this can be applied to any creative process, not just drawing. So yes ^_^Enjoy the stupidness ^_^

Oh my gosh! That's almost exactly howΒ mine works! I really couldn't help but laugh a little. Do you know how many stories I've trashed because of my 'Creative Process'. It doesn't always agree with me. Haha.

It's not stupid, it's very real and true. People are the worst critics to themselves and their own work, but usually you are also the best encourager to yourself as well, unless you are pessimistic, but this made me laugh some, but mostly sympathize greatly.

I tend to think of it as just me not being skilled enough yet to pull off the level of awesome I can imagine in my head-- so at the very least, you're not uncreative, just lacking in practice. Keep at it until you can pull off that awesome, 'kay? ouo b

heh, yeah, practice is very much a thing I need ^_^;;; but before it was like, Ugh, my sketch sucks, ug, the inking AARRGGG the coloring. Now it's like OH YES leading to an OH NOOOOOOO. It gets my hopes up *shakes fist*

Well, as one of my favorite teachers would say, you gotta give your art permission to suck. I think being over critical of your work is true for 90% or so of the artists out there, or at least that what it seems like after all the critique sessions from my art classes.
On a side note, while I love Dubious Company, I seem to find myself more excited when I see one of these little 4 panel comics of yours pop up on here, they're awesome!
