How in the world do you get this close to anything with a 50mm and keep it in such focus?
Every time I try it... even on non-moving things, the lens won't focus.

This picture actually gives an insect emotion. It reminds me of a baby looking over the edge of a table to see the vast chasm below. I LOVE IT! Insects are cool, and you've given them a way to express emotion. Please do a dragonfly next!!!

thanks! it's the effect of the flash fired on a withe wall in background....and however I use a "strange A80" for macroshots ...

I don't think I've mentioned how gorgeous and adorable this photo is. The contrast between the white background, and the foreground.. The realistic but vivid colours... The clearly defined eyes, fuzz and wings... Perfection incarnate.
