I honestly don't feel sorry for Sans.
Frisk (and Chara) is suffering from HIS decision.

I think that Chara feel insecure too: I mean he's dead and when he can finally live, everyone misse Frisk, and when Frisk comes back, it's only her, her and always her. Maybe that Chara think "everyone wants me to disppear" "they only want Frisk"...
And while Frisk is free to choose her relationship, Chara is free to dislike the person that Frisk has choosen.
Problem: Frisk and Chara have the same body

He interrupted what's natural. Frisk comes out at night, Chara comes out at day. Or if an agreement is made, Frisk is out at day and chara is out at night. He tried making them change places unnaturally.

Well, so was Chara. Remember, Chara was planning to stay up at night, Sans was actually trying to change the sleep schedule back. Also, Chara probably has the ability to "lock" Frisk in place, which he may have done out of spite for Sans.

I agree that if Frisk is locked, it's probably because of Chara.
At the beginning, he had not noticied that Frisk had wake up and it's the other who have betrayed that by being not very discret.
But Chara had not real interest to stay awake at night, since all his life is at day. Except if he wanted to force Frisk to sleep at night wih them and be awake in his soul at day.
Sans has tried to sent Chara sleep for long time, except that the body and the soul belong to Chara now, since Frisk has gave them to him.
Frisk is free to love whatever she wants, BUT Chara and her share a body.
It's not easy for both of them.
