i dunno, youd have to check their website for a demo or something, besides that i dont believe its free, but its much less expensive than photoshop. i think its 80-90 bucks. and as for advice to use it, i can give you that, but the best place to go is this tutorial by spudzz, you can find it here:
[link] look for the bryce 5 tutorial, its very well done. when you've used that, all i can say is just play around with it...im not really a pro at this, this is only my 6/7th deviation with it

Bryce 5 and some hue editing in Photoshop.

this one, (as with most of mine) I just made a 'mirrored box', that reflects everything, then added two cylinders, and three 'donuts' that linked together. rendering took about 3 hours, but it was worth it

Rock on! I love the colors and the whole metallic effect. I rarely fav abstract pieces, but this is an exception
