Woop!So I've recently started reading the web comic "Romantically Apocalyptic" made by the deviant: .
I've been seeing his artwork on the front page of dA for quite awhile now, but I never realized it was from a webcomic until just recently.
I've only just started reading it, but let me tell you, it's the best webcomic I've ever seen. The artwork is phenomenal.Β Literally almost every page is wallpaper worthy. The amount of work put into just the art is outstanding, I seriously cannot get over it. Some of the pages LOOK SO DAMN REALISTIC MY JAW JUST DROPS. Not only that, but the comic is nearing 200 pages long, and is full of great, humorous dialogue to read.
I'm so glad I found this comic and can't wait to get reading it.
Anyways, onto the drawing itself!

Snippy himself was done with HB and 2B mechanical pencil. The background was done with marker. The blue of his goggles was made by converting the grey into colour using photoshop.
Other than that, there isn't too much to say. Was a lot of fun to draw ^_^.

Bruh, your work is fantastic, and you made me discover something that looks like a great comic!
But I have one question... How do you do to have such a dark background? O_O With my graphite pencil 8B, when I want to do that on big surfaces, it damage my pencil, and the black is "shiny"!

Thank you for all your recent comments, I appreciate the feedback 
As for the black backgrounds in my drawings, they aren't done in pencil. Whenever my drawings have a black background, It's because I've added it in Photoshop, or done it in marker. I've tried doing black backgrounds with pencil before, and it's as you say, you get stuck with a "shiny" surface, so I stopped doing it.

Thank you! I might draw another one of them sometime in the future, I was honestly thinking of doing Engie. But there's far too much black in these drawings to think of that now. My hand still hurts xD.

Hmm... it looks just like the picture you used as reference, only darker. In fact the gamma seems pretty dark... Have you tried to use other display settings for your art program?

This was drawn by hand in pencil, based on the reference in the description. I simply drew it much darker because that's how I wanted it? The only work done in a program was changing the grey goggles into blue, no display settings or anything were really used.

Uhm yeah I know that it was drawn with pencils. Just saying that it's hard to see the borders of the jacket where it goes over into the black of the shirt, and I can't see the borders of the gas mask either, so I thought you probably made it darker in photoshop.

Ohhh, I get it. Well when I used that reference, I made the reference itself darker in photoshop (because I wanted a darker image to reference). So the version of that image that I copied didn't have those outlines. The reason you can't seem them is simply because I didn't draw them in xD.
