Shot over the course of almost 2 months, featuring the place Sørkjosen in northern Norway and its beautiful nature and weather.
Entire movie shot with the Nikon d800 with 14-24mm f/2.8 lens.
after checking over the entire 280 gb of photage, its over 11000 images in total.

My God! This is the most spectacular video of auroras I've ever seen... In my opinion northern lights are one of the most wonderful things in all over the world. I hope one day when I live in the North, I will have the chance to see this beauty. Impeccable work. Congratulations!

The average speed of the aurora is 400 km/second ( 250 miles/s ), so yeah pretty fast, you dont really get the sense of how fast it is moving on weaker types of aurora, but on strong ones you can clearly see how fast it moves as it dances across the sky, just spectacular.

So how long/many photos was an average segment? like how long did it take to shoot at what intervals?

most was 500+ photos and then compressed further in sony vegas, intervals vas varying ofc, but in general I kept it at 1600 iso, 4 seconds ( 5 interval ), f 2.8 for consistancy, but I did shoot f 5.6 for sharpness on some of the clips.

Yes it is northern lights, and its actually not real time its faster, if a shot is 3 seconds and the interval is 4 you will shoot 24 pictures in 1 minute and 36 seconds, which in turn is 1 second of film, so its quite a bit faster than in real.
