Description
Merry Christmas everyone! My hand hurts. The whole thing looked much better in pencil. This is a lot of mixed media and maybe I should switch to digital painting.
I drew the Captain first and his legs were weird, and I drew everybody else relative to his measurements.
Castafiore's face was easy enough but when I got to the rest of her body, I needed to perform a lot of guesswork. Her hand was only weird when I started inking it.
Snowy looked all right when I first drew him, but then I realised he was too high up. I lowered his body and then his neck was too long. I redrew his head and his face was too short.
Calculus' face was difficult, and too low. I drew it higher and it was too big. I redrew it and according to my sister, it's still too big.
Tintin's face was too big and empty, his body was too thick, his neck was at an awkward angle, and I had trouble deciding where to put his hands, but he's okay now.
Nestor was surprisingly okay at first, but I'd drawn him too low. I drew him higher and he was too big. I drew him smaller and he'd returned to his original position. He was originally going to carry a box of decorations, but it would have taken too much space.
The Chrismas tree and ladder were also troublesome. I used a ruler for the windows and wood panelling.
I planned this one week ago in my head and it was perfect. I sketched this and it was okay. All in all, drawing was murder.
Colouring and inking was a whole new type of murder. It turns out I was using my pen wrong the whole time.
The Adventures of Tintin was created by HergΓ© and now, I think, belongs to Moulinsart. I don't own it.

Yeah, I really wanted to give him a hat, but I also wanted to draw the top of his head, which I think is shaped funny. It's a good thing he's surprised, so that it would fall off and I can do both.

I can totally imagine Him and Irma being a couple. I'm usually not into that sorta thing, but I think it would be cute.

Thanks! I wasn't sure what kind of gift would get that reaction from him, but airholes did the trick.
