Description
"Listen up, 'Uman! My name is Eckerette, this is now my t'erritory, and you're now my captive!""Wha--What do you want with me?!"
"Er, well, y'see... I'm not really sure. My Mom used t'always growl at me when I'd try t'ask or watch... I was hoping m'be you would know..."
I've been having fun lately with drawings of young Drakes interacting with the Human thier parent had abducted... But I don't want to give the impression that all Drakes are loving a responsible parents who painstakingly teach thier children everything they know. Most are marginal parents, at best...
Like the mother of this young Dust Drake. Forced out of the family lair pre-maturely, she knows only that live Humans are fun to capture. For some reason or another. Hopefully the shepard boy she pounced on will help her out.

I guess she's curious about humans and why she needs to feed on their magic but I can understand her mom didn't want her to find out.

Well he's in quite a situation. I imagine the temptation to try to get out of the situation entirely is there but that could have bad long term affects if she even fail for it. I'm thinking a little honesty with a strong emphasis on why she doesn't want to kill him or permanently injure him would be well suited to the situation. Though perhaps he could get away with asking some questions to find out exactly how well set up she is right now.
I wonder though if some prefer to have a relatively gentle drake in their territory rather then no drake at all. After all the current resident would probably chase out any intruders while if there is no drake at all you run greater risk of a more violent drake moving in.

Gentle Drakes are indeed a benefit! ...To the population asa whole, if no always to the individual wom he or she picks up... They will chase away some rougher creatures, and shown in a few posted drawings, and a few more that I need to draw...

That's an interesting predicament the human finds himself in. If he manages to keep his wits about him, he could turn the situation to his advantage (or at least, partially to his advantage). The drake probably has some idea that she's going to benefit from capturing him. I'm assuming she at least heard her mother playing with her humans.

Partially! Partially to his advantage. Mama Drake didn't do much to raise her daughter, but she didn't raise no fool! The big girl's definately going to make sure she stays in charge!

This conversation could end up in sooo many different ways, and if the human is a quick thinker, to the human's advantage:
"Oh well uhh.... Drakes capture humans to uhhh... to train under them! So they can ummm, so they can fight alongside them"
"That dosen't sound right, Drakes defending humans? I thought we didn't get along?"
"No no, its right, if you don't believe me there is a fire drake taking care of the kitchen in that castle town down the road, and I remember hearing of a dust drake that protected humans against an ice monster that was killing them the other day!"
"Hmmmmm..."

I just realized that should say "fire drake that protected humans against an ice monster that was killing them the other day!" instead of "dust drake" (in case it isn't obvious, I am referring to your previous "paying back the b----" image), after all, he didn't specify that the "ice monster" was an ice drake, and she WAS a monster to humans and drakes alike

Yes, some parents just aren't fit for the role. In this case, I think the Drake has had a stroke of luck in targeting a shepherd for answers. Spending as much time as they do around sheep, they get to see a lot of what happens and learn more about life than most of those stuck up city educated kids who never find out about 'fun with Drakes' until they try hunting one.
And what Zen said about the setting. Ditto. Its good to see stereotypes broken for true creativity.

Per the caption and EdgeWeapon's comments, the Drake doesn't know exactly what she's supposed to do with Humans, but she knows she's supposed to leave them bruised and injured. So, by asking the Human what she is supposed to do to him, she's essentially asking him how she is supposed to injure him!

You know, this fantasy you're crafting is rather interesting if for nothing else then all the typical 'norms' being broken. You've got humans with default magic items, elves that are very un-elf like in nature, and now drakes which, unlike other fantasies which have dragon[-like being]s as sort of wise, and in many cases nurturing, you've got pretty mediocre parents and abductions of peasants for...fun, really. Really, as you develop this more, you could really make it a pretty far reaching setting.
As for the picture, it's nice in itself. The poses are cute, and I like that you've put more of a background in this one.

Rolling hills are an easy background to include. Much easier than certain other backgrounds...
Yeah, the 'learned scholar' part of dragon mythology was knd of hard to reconcile with the other tropes I wanted to use, which tended to be on the slightly more savage side... So I ditched it. Anyways, glad you like all the other twists and subversions!
