Description
Well, this gallery of mine has survived its second year, so now is a good time to look back at all the drawings that didn't quite make it into the gallery. At scenes that were never completed, at sketches that were never cleaned up and finished, at drawing that for whatever reason just weren't posted... At all the drawings from the past year that aren't worth your full attention, but may still worth at least a passing glance.Apparently, I started one last sketch of Carina before I abandoned her and her setting. A pity, but I have been happier ever since.
I think the idea was that Carina there was getting ready to pounce on a scorpion, which in turn was approaching Carina's 'hunting buddy' who she had tied up as scorpion bait. The scorpion and the bait were going to be sketched at a larger scale on a different page and then photoshoped into this scene... But as you can see, I never went through with that. Oh well.
In the meantime, enjoy this drawing of Carina and her outfit made out of her own shed tail-skin...

I remember her and I remember the idea of her using her own shed skin for this purpose. It's was and still is clever idea.

Y'know, I still sort of regret never drawing a good 'shedding her skin' picture... Oh well...

Oh well, at least giant serpent ladies did make it into Vistalah, in slightly different form. Maybe she could be reworked into a laminiathan who chose to live on land for some reason.

Yeah, there are aspects of those Nagas that I miss. Lots aspects that I don't, but a few that I do...
But as for Vistallah, every now and then I consider drawing a python-Lamina. Since real-world swamp/jungle-snakes can sometimes reach 20 feet or more, that could lead somewhere... And there's also the possibility of having some of the sea-serpant-girls act like eels--have them migrate up the great rivers to mate 'spawn' upstream. Basically have them mate and rear the child (through infantcy) somewhere sheltered and far away from sea monsters...

I guess you'd need to figure out what the role of a larger Lamina would be.
As for Laminiathons I got the impression they could pull themselves up onto land OK, so maybe they could sometimes use coastal towns for shelter like "where does a 200 foot long serpent-girl sleep" "wherever she wants to".
I'd give them a complex verbal culture but no concept of trade, so although with their size and strength they could be enourmous help moving things there's no way to "hire" one. Like towing a ship across a bay for a joke is fun, but across an ocean would be boring.

That'd be pretty convenient having your body produce clothes for you....
