Well, this gallery of mine has survived its second year, so now is a good time to look back at all the drawings that didn't quite make it into the gallery. At scenes that were never completed, at sketches that were never cleaned up and finished, at drawing that for whatever reason just weren't posted... At all the drawings from the past year that aren't worth your full attention, but may still worth at least a passing glance.

And here's an idea that's definately making it into Vistallah--just as soon as I finalize the design and feel the urge to draw them in thier finished environment: The Sprites. They'll be insect-like creatures with a hive-mentality, though not necessarily a hive-mind. There will be many classes of Sprites coming in many different sizes: small scout Sprites, regular sized worker Sprites, oversized warrior Sprites, and, naturally, the giant-sized queen Sprite, the mother of the entire hive. And while she could make all her daughters identical, a healthy and civilized hive needs some degree of variety, so each daughter will be fathered individually. Its a very demanding job for whichever drone she selects...

...And naturally, because this is Vistallah, the drone shall be a man of one of the other races.

I've made passing references to areas of Vistallah where monster rule; these will be one of those 'monsters'. I'm sure it's pretty easy to imagine a Queen like this ruling over a scattered population of subsitance farmers. There will be some that get along with their Huma/Elven/Drow neighbors (I'm imagining them turning an abandoned castle into a hive) but most will only be happy when they are indisputibly in control.
