Description
Ah, early spring! The time after the ground has thawed, but before the last frost. A time for the peasantry to take care of supplimental farming chores....Like clearing out the creeks and ditches that will carry water to thier fields later in the growing season. Silt and debris must be dug away, and the remains of plants that grew up last summer must be burned away....Alas, the burning aspect of the chore tends to attract the attention of local Fire Drake. This girl relishes any chance to swoop downand leave a trail of fire and panic in her wake--particularly when she can do so without being evil!

I think it's awesome she's helping the villagers burn the dead crops so they can produce more crops. At least, she is being helpful since she can absorb magic by burning living beings.

Peasant instructor pointing to image: "And here we see the ever helpful (and ever lustful) fire drake - a boon (and a bane) to all peasants. Not the expressions of surprise/fear of the two peasants. This is crucial! Be sure to act properly terrified when encountering her. It's both expected and appreciated."

Well it's nice that she's found a helpful outlet for her natural desire to burn things. I'm guessing there is something of a pyro in all fire drakes. I wonder if the breath weapon results in something of a different culture amongst drakes. Do fire drakes have a strong preference for cooked food then other drakes due to their natural abilities?

Oh, she's definately a 'pyro'! I've designed things so that Drakes absorb magic (and thus stay healthy) by destroying living things with their breath. So all Drakes love destroying things--usually just forests, which is why moments like this are so special--and then reveling in the wreckage....
...The breath types to indeed result in small differences. But more in style than in substance. And yeah, Fire Drakes would cook thier food more often than others. Well, singe it, at least...

Doesn't that sort of complicate things for a moss drake? I mean the other drakes swoop through the tree lines and cover the trees and they're either burned, die from frost or torn apart. A moss drake does it and she has to wait for lack of sun light to kill the tree.

Well, the moss is envisioned as fast acting, so its roots will immediately dig into the leaves and bark and break those down and release a bit of magic that way...
...But you do have a point that they are signifigantly less destructive than other Drake varieties....Well, maybe that just means they have to put more effort into gathering magic. Collecting more gold, or....Collecting more guys!

I'd hate to see what she does when she helps old ladies across the street.

Ha! Yeah, she probably has to take care that she only does this to straight sections of ditch....

If I remember correctly, don't they gather energy from the stuff they destroy with their breath weapons? All in all, seems like a win win situation.

You recall correctly! There probably isn't a lot of magic to be taken from dead plants in a ditch, but doing this does indeed improve her health--even if only just a little....

True, but I can picture this little exchange afterwards:
Peasant: "Gee thanks, that would've taken us all day to clear."
Drake: "Well, now that you have your day free ..."

Half an hour later, a pair of terrified farmers rush into the village shouting that a Drake is attacking their fields in a beneficial manner!
"Quick! Send one of the younger guards to distract her with sexy!"
