Description
Made for a competition between the two indie-developer teams "Unknown Worlds Entertainment" who are creating Natural Selection 2, and "Wolfire Games" who are creating Overgrowth. The goal of the competition was to in any way combine the two games in an image. And I won! ^^
I already own the two games so I figured I give the prize to my friend Shell instead ^^
Recently they made a little campaign to buy those two games in a bundle (buy one and get the other one as well), so if you like indie-developers and the VERY promising engines I have to say then go buy it at their campaign site . Only lasts for a limited time though!
And they were so nice to let those who had already pre-order get the other title for free (in my case I received Overgrowth even though pre-ordered NS2 months ago).
---
The Gorge, for those who don't know what it is, is a class in Natural Selection 2 that creates structures (offensive towers that attack) by spewing out some weird gunk on the ground that then grows.
Overgrowth is a world where anthromorphic characters do uh, "ninja rabbit fighting", needless to say I haven't really tried its predecessor "Lugaru" yet for the gameplay but the engine is looking really sweet. Take a few looks on the screenshots on that link above and you'll see what I mean.

Great picture, I have both games myself and love both of them, love being a cloaknos on Ns2 and a rabbit on Overgrowth, both are addicting games, overgrowth has some good things running for it, and your picture is awesome, that is all.

Indeed you should, but really take the forums with a great pinch of salt. Don't think I have ignored users so wildly ever before (a lot of ranting and pointless topics about the development). But you should definitively visit the site on fridays, I think it's their regular "thing" to post some kind of updates then.
And thanks, my friend was really happy about getting two free games

Haha, amusing.
I was a fan of the predecessor to Overgrowth, having pre-ordered NS2 a while back I was surprised when I got the email saying I was being given Overgrowth for free, didn't even know it existed til then!
Still baffled over if Overgrowth has a down-loadable working copy yet, or if its still like NS2 with only the builder available.

You can get the editor for Overgrowth (I have it) that you can play around in, but the amount of things you can do and add inside the editor seems to be pretty limited.
There's three preset levels that you can jump into, and they've also added a "bunny-mode" where you enter a ragdoll character and have another ragdoll with AI hunt you throughout the level and try to knock you down. That's basically the length of playability their beta have so far (unless I too have missed something but I don't think so).
But it's alpha, so it's just common sense there's not a whole lot of 'oompfh' in it yet.
