Guess I should've gone into the lore a bit haha.
This character was beheaded when she was young, on account of bearing a horrific curse. But because of her curse, she could not die. She came back to life, though now without a head. The curse overtook her, and she was no longer human. Still, the knowledge of her headlessness always remained a subject of bitter contempt, even in her warped state.
She now wears an iron mask, finely crafted, with a wig made from her servants hair. None have ever seen her without the mask, and so now, generations later, some believe her not to truly be headless. That the stories are simply that, stories. For how could one speak without a head?
Or something to that effect.
