I like the sharpness but not so much the brownness. I don't know if the light was actually like that but it seems like you've turned up the saturation and it doesn't look natural. Unnatural can look good too but not in this photo.
A pretty shot nonetheless.

Haha.
There's a difference between turning up the saturation and changing the colour balance. In this case I've changed the colour balance to a warmer state, yes. But I understand if you don't like it because you're entitled to your own opinion and I don't mind hearing other people's opinions. Thank you!

I'm jealous. x) I've been trying for ages to get a shot like this. (But mine would have stank horribly compared to this. lol)
Lovely shot!

Hehe , it takes a while to get a decent shot of those duckies
.
Thanks!

overexposed, loss of colours and bad composition. Ducks can be done much better! and they should be, since they are tame.

There is a sepia cast over the bird, so everything becomes sepia. Mallards have many more colours.
Fx all the cold grey colours, the iridescant colours on the head and the greenish on the beek.
Try to do an image search on ducks and compare.

I saw this comment and it caught my eye. Not trying to get in anyone's chilli, and for all I know, she may have asked for a critique.
When it comes to photos of birds, to me, I think people have different ways about doing them (just like any other shot). I think it's nice to see an action shot of a duck. They may be tame, but that doesn't mean they don't have their moments of action. I also think it's a lovely shot of the wings, even if it's a bit blurry, it gives the duck character. If I wanted to study a ducks wings feather by feather, I would simply pull out a bird book or a stuffed duck.

I get that other stuff but what exactly do you mean by "loss of colours"?

Thank you!
It is very difficult to take picture of animals and birds. But if it's not always directly worth the effort then at least it's practise. And when a photo comes out good then it's great!
So, do you like your camera so far?

This is an amazing shot! It's one of those moments where I'm sure once you had the chance to look at it you got all giddy inside. At least that's what I would have done if I took this! I love how clear the image is, especially on his head and the ripples in the water. The colors are amazing because they have sort of a nostalgic feel to them, while still capturing the vibrancy of his colors. I love the female duck in the background, she's so cute! One bit of advice would be that the lower half of his wing is blurry, but I think that's out of your control, and overall its a wonderful piece.

Thank you, I really appreciate it!
I was quite happy that I got this pic. I was trying very hard to get one of a duck fluttering like that but not so many turned out good . One thing I definitely am sad about is the blurry wing
. I tried to keep the shutter speed as fast as possible but there wasn't much light so I still couldn't get any pics totally sharp. :/

You're very welcome! Again, good job! Don't worry about the wing. It's hardly noticeable. I was just being picky!
