The texture of the lawn in the foreground is absolutely stunning, catching the light in detail and yet one wonders what it really is: moss, hoarfrost,...? Additionally, the horizontal dimension of the bus - even punctuated by the green line on white - makes for a nice contrast to the horizontal raster of the trees.

That was one thing that I noticed too about the grass. It was actually a kind of moss I guess since back when I took the photo there wasn't much real grass anywhere.

There is something about this picture that just captivates me. Reminds me of a summer night here in Iceland just walking in the grass with the sun almost setting and yet not as it won't go all the way down but instead travels across the horizon till it is in the perfect place to move up again.

Yeah it is. The sun kinda just coasts along the horizon to get back to it's starting point. Lot of tourists come here just for this.

It's neat. If you ever visit just make sure you come during July, it's the warmest time to. Iceland has very mild weather so it will most likely not be going over 20Β°C but the weather can be quite nice during that time.

When I first saw this photo, I thought it was the end of the day. It gave me a "going home" feeling. But then I read it's sunrise and it brought up a fun memory of that excitement I used to feel going on certain school field trips first thing in the morning. Warm and friendly, no matter what way I look at it!
