Description
Often times, one tends to draw from head to toe (Top to bottom). This one is where you draw the lower body than the upper body (A bit of a zigzag). So far it has helped me get proportions right. And see how it has no details whatsoever, that's because I draw the figure first, then add the details later. This may be negligible because it's so simple and doesn't look that nice, but once you learned the basics and the technical stuff, that's when you get creative and make things pretty.
Once you get the proportions down, you can get away with just about anything.
P.S I learned this method in a drawing class

Now this IS useful, think you could make one of these for how to simply draw a pony? Because my style still isn't quite the show's just yet

You follow the same order of which body parts to draw first, even as a pony. Don't worry so much about the details until you the got the guestures right. But then technically, ponies have no arms. Just experiment with it.

This is really great! I think I'll try it this way. I tend to sketch out the shapes for the hips and torso first, then add the limbs and head, but I quite like this method.

Awesome!
I mainly do rough shape building before I clean up the sketch and add details, but this seems like a simpler process!
Do you use the same process for drawing figures when you do male characters and children?

Yes, I follow the same steps. I draw the figure and guesture first before adding the details.

Thank you!. It is a bit based off from Equestria Girls but I've decided to draw the arms and the legs like the characters from Phineas and Ferb...

Nice work. I used to draw in a manner that was clunky and non-professional way back in 06', but now I draw in a structured format much like this, which really helps assure proper dimensions and pose.
I think this can help people getting into and better their drawing abilities, or even just appreciate the steps.

I think it's better to start with basics and the technical structured stuff. Then get creative after you've mastered it. If you want that creative chaos, you gotta have structure.

I can never get comfortable drawing on a computer. If I'm drawing from scratch it's gotta be the traditional paper and pencil. But that's just me, do whatever you're more comfortable in.
