Pointy ears FTW. I totally see this pairing - the insults are just to wind each other up for hot steamy "I HATE YOU SO MUCH" Vulcan secks later on

Ya know, it's not a pairing that really grabs me, but the more I watch TOS, the more I think, OH YEAH! They are TOTES doing it!

You know, I'm thinking it was one time during Spock's routine physical... our pointy eared friend lying on the bench (shirtless of course), McCoy leans over him, makes another of many snarky remarks about Vulcan physiology... suddenly finds himself pulled on top of said Vulcan... and it was aallllll downhill from there

Well, in TOS series they don't actually get along very well (McCoy tends to call spock "pointy eared hob goblin") but that's what makes this pairing interesting! They have their moments of deep, deep friendship and then they go back to bickering, haha.

There was a bit of a hullabaloo over on livejournal, with using the initials. K/Mc for Kirk/McCoy. This person felt that Mc was derogatory towards Scottish people, (ie; Mick or Mickey). I'm all for wiping out racism and such, but um ...THAT'S HIS NAME! And the last time I checked, Scotts were not a severely repressed visible minority.
