Okay, being on a mac myself ... I haven't looked at Fractorium. Β I have, luckily, a mediocre windows desktop I use Apophysis in.
Does fractorium have all the same fun plugins? Β
What's OpenCL? Β Β
I tend to use Chaotica myself at this point for rendering. Β Mind sharing your thoughts?

Both are great software, and I've used both.
But to work with Chaotica, I need ChaosHelper...
This week Fractorium 1.0.0.2 was released and has ChaosHelper functionality.

OpenCL is used to render in GPU (graphic card). Faster than CPU.
On Mac, you can't use external plugings with Chaotica.
Fractorium has many, many plugins.Β
Fractorium is open source, Chaotica isn't.
If you never tested Fractorium, try it!
