Description
Just a quick doodle whilst I was trying out Inkscape for the first time. It's a WAY cool program.Related content

Vector Art is something I have never really experimented with but I fully intend to during 2006- apparently my college tutor wants to show me the ropes after the holidays. I dont think I'd need a free VA program- I already have Illustrator CS2 and the Adobe CS2 Suite.

What I did was, I threw the "Trisk" on there, in black, then applied a neutralgrey-black gradient across it, vertically. This was all on a white background, mind. After I did that, I put text over it in white, so only the parts overlaying the lettering showed. The rest of it was done in Photoshop - Import, circular marquee, invert. XD No complex layer masking, just a series of quick things. I don't use inkscape anymore, mainly because I got Illustrator CS2, but if you're looking for a free vector art prog, go look at Inkscape, as there's none better.

Very nice Trisk, how did you get the text into the actual Trisk font? Layer masking? Kind of looks like you did a layer for the black, layer for the white, merged them, created a layer beneath them, then used a brush with the eraser to actually write Trisk across it so the text behind it became apparent? Am I anywhere close to it?
~reads artist comment- inkscape..
Inkscape? Cant say I have heard of it, is it any good? Layering? Similar to PS?
