Description
18" by 24" - done with white china marker, ebony pencil, Prismacolor and Crayola colorpencils.This is my bicycle assignment. We were supposed to take different parts of a bike and rearrange them like a design. I was doing a lot of digital painting and was a little obsessed with the color scheme and decided to take it to the next level and made it look like 2 little kids trapped in a mechanical world that is breaking down. The colors are all traditional and not digitally enhanced.
I started working on this from the beginning of August and just got it done, after abandoning it for a few months. I went to see Inception and got a little inspired before I started sketching for this, so you could see a little of it, and also the mechanical intro of Lionsgate film production.
Comments and faves are very appreciated!

Wow I never realized how complex the picture of human mind as machinery can be. And how delicately balanced-one broken link, and it1s done for. Great artwork!

looks awesome, i imagine this is what my mind does when someone tells me something really stupid, my mind chugs/ lags and grinds to a breaking halt in a failed attempt to understand what was just said to me.

Great work, so much to look at. And it reminds me of H.R.Giger somehow!

Blitzkinder In reply to trivostudio [2010-12-24 17:51:40 +0000 UTC]
Well, let's see...
Cthulu was made popular by an author by the name of H.P. Lovecraft, and is/was supposed to be an elder god, older than time and space, that could not be looked upon by a mortal without the viewer going irrevocably insane...
Cyber = bio-mechanical...
-oid = like / similar to / based on...
