Gorgeous street lighting. I always look forward to the first snow in Flagstaff. It actually looks something like this on good nights, with the glow hitting off the flakes.
Good stuff.

I still don't believe it's a photomanipulation; it looks so convincingly real! Love the colors and the contrast!

I hope you wont get flamed like me, cause you you made a photo of something happening, not drawing it yourself.
Cause of some pure virtual art of mine, I was attacked by haters just recently.
They tried to hide behind logical reasons and rules, but they are just hating and flaming me anyway.
Beautiful screenshot.

Basically exactly what StapledSlut and paper-bunnys said, this person took a screenshot from an anime and uploaded it (after writing a couple words on it) which is against the copyright rules, but this Lecktmich person doesn't seem to understand what this means.

None of it's photography, it's all stuff from Anime and Manga that he/she picked off the internet and stuffed into their gallery with a few minor edits here and there he/she is just trying to gin your pity.

He doesn't get the difference between taking a photo yourself and stealing a picture off of google.
He has no "work", just other people's.

Dont want to talk about it much more, cause its just negative emotions, but in short:
Just an stupid argument about WHAT Art is an what not.
It was about "manipulated screenshots", with material from Mangas, Animes and such.
I know that photography is more 'acknowledged'.
Those haters just didnt get that an uploaded edited screenshot isnt the art, but the idea behind it.
The haters I catched myself discovered me cause of this one:

Maybe the rules of deviantart are still a bit to limited, or just dont let the easiest and fasted way of creating art, acknowledged quickly enough.
There are people who "suffer" alot by learning how to draw stuff that you want to see for real ^_^
and it takes alot amount of time and work.
Its clear those people, knowing that and feel like it must be a bit of a pain to create something big, will hate you for simply manipulation an existing art -> just for the joy of it and try to create something funny.

Hon, this picture is an example of what comes out of effort. Real art, such as this piece, takes time, effort, and patience to complete. You're just denying art theft, and pointing fingers to attempt to make others look bad, calling them "haters." We're not hating on you, you're just making yourself an easy target for trolls, and you're likely to get yourself banned for art theft. I know you're getting sick of hearing it, but art theft is illegal. I don't care if your original stuff is complete crap or if it's the next Picasso. Just post that instead of screenshots, and you'll have a chance of saving yourself from a ban. Or you could just continue being butthurt about hearing the truth, and whine about your inevitable ban. It's your decision.

oh i see.
I don't know exactly how Deviantart defines its art theft policy, but i know quite a lot about copyright law, as we had to take notes and quizzes in Video Production class. well, with all your respect, I just want to let you know a few things about copyright rules. You cannot use things that is created by someone else without written permission. Copyright of an actual artwork is valid from the moment it's created until 70 years after the artist dies.
If you just do it for fun and post on Deviantart under "Fanart", it's not that big of a deal, as it could be considered as progress of creativity, at least in my opinion. However, if you sell your art, submit to contests and such... it will be against the law to do so. drawing from the actual photo is also considered against copyright law, although you can do it for fun and practice your drawing skills like thousands of Deviants. Like I did a drawing of Carrie Underwood, I could not enter it for Scholastic Art Competition because of copyright, but it was a good experience with the medium. Anyway, if you want to do funny skits like that, you can always submit to Fanart.
I don't think they say those things to you because they "hate" you, they are just trying to encourage you to use your own work instead of others', and if you do, you would need to ask for permission, change a lot about that picture and make it your own, and credit the original artist. It shows your respect to art as well as other artists. Even though like i said posting on Deviantart isn't that big of a deal, you still should start making it a habit and be aware that everything is copyrighted.
@ Other deviants: if there is something I said wrong feel free to correct me.

Im aware of the most important thing that has to do with copyright.
Selling copyrighted stuff and make MONEY with it.
So sadly... and not important for me at all, I dont make any money with it and dont plan to do that in the future.
Why should I?
It is possession of someone other ( in most cases, I dont even know ^^ ).
Thats why I not a thief.
And asap DA tells me to remove this stuff regardless of that, I guess I will do as the owners of the house tell me.
This hasnt happen until now though. ^^
