"I'll just tell Dad that you were too busy to reply right away..."I always thought it was odd that Apollo - a god with so many different jobs and positions (god of music, prophecy, medicine, archery, colonization, poetry, dance, light, etc...) - was also the one who commanded that everything be done in moderation. It seemed to make him a bit of a hypocrit.
In any case, I can imagine him finally falling asleep in the middle of some task or another. I imagine that the other gods would just let him be if they found him, even Hermes.

Aww, there they are, two of my favorites <3 Apollo looks so peaceful and beautiful (though he is always beautiful xD) when he is asleep.

True, but Hermes probably though /really/ hard about waking Apollo up with some juvenile prank or another. Or smaking him with the message. After all, he is the one who's always on his feet.
Hermes is also probably jealous that Apollo still manages to look like a fashion model even when he's asleep. Hermes probably looks like one of those teens who flail around in their sleep. And drool.
