Description
TÊa/Anzu (this is the biggest problem I have with Yu gi oh, everyone has way too many names and I'm never sure what to call anyone)I've been on a big Yu Gi Oh kick since I to read the manga a few weeks back. I used to watch this show every saturday morning with my bro so it was really nostalgic finally getting to read the source material (which is actually surprisingly good) and to actually find out how it ends since I never saw the millennium world arc or anything.
So yup. Here's TÊa. She's kind of boring in both the manga and the anime lol

BUT! Let's not forget that Anzu has, of all the Yugioh cast the most varied wardrobe for the DM anime:
- Domino High School Uniform (Winter)
- Default Design Duelist Kingdom
- Flashback Work uniform
- Dungeon Dice Monsters/Date with Yami-Outfit
- Battle City Outfit 1 (yellow shirt, red skirt)
- Default Design Battle City/Ship/Noah's Arc (turquoise blouse, blue hotpants)
- Orichalcos DOMA Outfit 1; also during Kaiba Grand Prix (white blazer, red shirt, beige plat skirt)
- Orichalcos DOMA Outfit 2 (brown jacket, jeans hot pants)
- Millenium Arc (black midriff, red skirt)

And here I thought Japan was flashy and glamorous compared to us!
I think the (translated) manga refers to Anzu as a "kogal" once, which WAS a very flashy fashion trend back in the 90's...

thanks!
Yeah, she seems so normal compared to a lot of yu gi oh characters that sometimes it's easy to forget that she actually has a pretty nice design herself!

This is a really wonderful picture. ^^
I love the way you've drawn her hair flowing and her curves, she looks very stylish and pretty here.

Same here! I used to watch it on TV and just read the manga, so now I'm a fan again. This is an awesome picture of her! Very well done!

Whoa, didn't recognize her! She looks better without the exaggerated hair and eye styles that all Yu-Gi-Oh characters seem to have.

yeah, yu gi oh fanart always looks way better than the original art since they all have stupid hair and eyes XD
have you seen designs for the newest yu gi oh thing? Zexal or something? I don't know whether to laugh or cry when I see those designs LOL

Wow, she looks so different in your style! Great job.
I used to also watch the dub of YGO (ah, memories <3), and I remember she annoyed the never-ending buhjeezus out of me. All she ever did was make friendship speeches, and stand around screaming people's names whenever they got hurt playing their children's card games. In the second series anime, she really is just there to . . . uh . . . stand around and be The Chick of the team. I mean, Tristan (using the English names for simplicity here) never really did anything, either, but because he didn't make speeches that sucked up time, he didn't annoy me as much.
That said, I definitely do think she's better in the manga -- at least, in the early chapters. She stood up to Joey and Tristan, at any rate, when they were bullying Yugi, and that's something. Really, though, none of the girls in that manga are really amazing, which I guess is typical for a shounen series, so it's whatever. xD My favorite characters were always Joey and Seto anyway.

I . . . honestly don't remember making that comment, though after checking the date I can see why: I made it three years ago.
I'm not going to chew you out for replying to something so old, though I will say that it is often a waste of time to do so, because people's opinions change as they grow and learn. For the record, even though Anzu still isn't my favorite character in the series, I do love her quite a lot now and defend her whenever the subject comes up, especially since I've been reading the manga. My comment of "when I watched the dub she annoyed me" was in reference to when I watched the dub when I was thirteen; I was twenty-two when I made the comment you're replying to, but in said comment I was referring to opinions I held as a child, so it's safe to say they aren't opinions that need arguing with now. After all, now I'm almost twenty-five, and as I said, I've already changed my opinion on my own.
I can certainly understand wanting to stand up for Anzu and I completely applaud your efforts to do so. She needs defenders. But next time you might want to look at the date of the comments you're replying to, because odds are the person you're defending her to has changed their mind, or else just doesn't care about the subject of the conversation anymore. (I do care, but you're still preaching to the choir, here.)
Carry on, friend.

I felt like so many of the characters in yu gi oh were just there to stand around and do nothing! It gets to the point where you can't really remember whether Tea, Tristian, Duke, etc. were there or not for certain scenes. If they WERE there, they certainly didn't do a darned thing!
My favorite character is Ryo, which sucks that they pretty much deleted him from the anime LOL
I was really surprised how much he did in the manga
