Description
This is yet another pen and ink project. It is based on a figure I saw in a dream.I wanted to portray the image of beauty that so many women strive to become--shattered, in the mirror.
What the figure represents is the result of self-loathing and the constant torture that so many women around us endure.
It is what their bodies come to look like after their irrational physical conditioning to become what our society has come to call "Beauty", thus the title.
You'll also notice the slit wrist...this was my attempt at emphasizing the sadness and depression that accompanies a woman's inability to become an image of perfection that cannot be acheived.
I hope you guys can appreciate the meaning as well as the art.

amazing picture and what you said really touched me i have zero confidence and am very shy but you just boosted my confidence when no one else could , thankyou, i am so gratefull for that ...the image really portraits how society pictures perfect women only as there size and there is no use trying to be perfect you should be your self no one should have to act like someone else everyone should express the individuality inside them instead of keeping everything bottled up and no one will see the real you. thankyou Q_Q

Honesty is a rare and brave trait, u have shown helpless woman that beauty is what they see not what others want them to look like. Said millions of times in movies but never learned unless the smart realize they're self worth for themselves. Honesty!

i hate to say it but its the truth. the pressure the media puts on women can be so strong and its also true i bet every girl has had a thought to become that image of perfect.............. even me.
but i know that true beauty is myself the way i am without changing myself.
