Test-driving the just released Octane v3 alpha for Poser plug-in.I wanted to try out the new participating medium (aka fog / haze) feature, as it was always a PITA in 2.x to a.) set it up and b.) get it to a high quality noise-free image.
This was really fun to set up and it's great to see that the medium nodes already work so well in Daylight and Texture Environment.
The plants carry our still in development (we're slowly getting there, I guess...) RedSpec TGX flora, which we will beta test, probably some time next year.
S/P: ~ 8.200
Render time: ~ 3hrs. (GTX Titan Black + GTX 780)
Light source: Octane Daylight + HDRi + Mesh lights
Kernel: Pathtracing
Shaders: RedSpec TGX flora (WIP)

And yeah, sure thing: You want to use the "Medium" in Β the environment node of OctaneRender.

Yes, I think there will be.
Once the OpenVDB volumes will be integrated, we have 3-5 new cool features

Wow, fantastic render. The haze is really good. The only thing that doesn't absolutely impress is the grass. It feels like it has too much translucency, so I can see how that's still under development. But even that's not bad.Β

Yup it still is a WIP.
I had to crank up the sun power a bit, in order to get the god rays right, though. That further increases the SSS effect.

Looks perfect, timing impressive and one question: is possible to make turbulance map (?), I mean smoke or irregular fog with changing density?
