I've talked about this with some friends before, but thought I'd share it here.

What is Kumon?

It's essentially a learning center for kids to enhance and strengthen their abilities in math, writing and whatever subjects they're teaching now. It's like Score! Educational Centers. A lot of my friends and I had to go through Kumon at one time or another.

But what child, in their right mind, would want to spend hours of their afternoon doing math drills?

Not me.

Seriously. That's the logo. That is the most accurate depiction of what everyone enrolled in Kumon looks like: so sad and all our hair falls out

I was walking into work this morning and on the monitor I see a clip of Dora the Explorer. Granted that they're always playing this stuff on the monitors, but I took notice to it today.

Her best friend, Boots, is a naked monkey.

Dora the Explorer hangs around with a naked monkey all day.

The only reason I distinguish this as a naked monkey, as opposed to an animal in the wild, is that this monkey actually wears a pair of red boots.

There are just certain things you can't wear without the other. Example, you can a shirt with no tie... but you look like a failed stripper if you wear a tie with no shirt.

The same goes for this particular animal. You can wear pants with no shoes, but damned if you wear shoes with no pants.

Gosh. A naked monkey named Boots. Whatever happened to the days of David the Gnome or The Busy World of Richard Scarry?

Not that I'm one to pass up on a great deal, but be weary my good travelers. Try to avoid eating a Chinese buffet as often as possible. The main reason being that your farts and craps the next day will be like the devil himself clawing his way out of the very tailpipe of your soul.

...and the holiest of holy two-ply bathroom tissue will not be able to bring forth salvation.
