NOPE, said Jeb, and proceeded to make it a NETHER boss, able to destroy obsidian, require the death of at least 120 Wither skeletons for their heads and soul sand, not to mention make awesome beams of light with it's drop.
And an explosion that can kill full Diamond armor gentlemen.
On the bright side you can have Pumpkin Pie.

I've already seen what the wither can do... those attacks do that wither after effect...
So, it only spawns in the Nether?
I don't know much else... is it suppose to spawn on its own? Do you have to summon it? Please tell me what you know...

Soul sand in the formation you'd make an Iron Golem.
Place in desired formation.
Proceed to kill tall skeletons found in the Nether.
Get 3 of their heads.
Place on Soul Sand on top.
Get horribly awesome Wither.
Optional: Run to friend's animal farm for maximum grief and distraction (and unfortunately, I think the Wither is healed then).

So the enderdragon is the boss of the ender
and the wither is suppose to be the boss of the nether (isn't that what you told me?)

Of it being a Nether boss. Requires components from the Nether though.
It means we don't have one.
Just like how in pokemon "God" is replaced with "Arceus" here "Gods" are replaced by "Mojang staff".
