Description
Gimp is appropriately named. It just isn't very intuitive to me. I'd take classic MS Paint any day.
This is my first, and probably last, Gimp illustration.
, you can have Gimp, I'll stick with what I'm good at.

I loves me some Gimp. That's how I make my hair textures for IMVU...
I had taken 6 different computer classes by the time I graduated high school. I learned how to work with just about everything. I even worked with MS Paint. They made me use the curved line tool--hated it. I like free-handing everything lol. But it was good practice and it DID end up looking better, despite the extra time and frustration. XD
So yeah, everyone has their preferences. I can work with lots of different things, but only a few are my favorites. I understand, Chad. :3

You could try paint.net. Its very user friendly, but doesn't have nearly as many features as gimp. More advanced programs require more time to learn ya know. Personally, I use multiple art programs.

Are you making use of the layers, in Gimp? Maybe it's just a matter of a lack of experience.

You do the lineart as a layer and the colors as others, but I feel your pain

But when you make a new layer, doesn't the line-maker tool deselect?

no, You need to make it visible. It's an option on the layer box.

I don't even have enough money to go to the LAN party that is going on right now. That cost just six dollars.

This took twenty minutes. In Photoshop or Paint it would have taken me five.
