Description The first pictures of my Assassin's Creed Unity costume are now here for you to see and thus you can enjoy my cheesy submission titles once again .

Despite the lack of references I think I made it look pretty decent. Taking artistic freedom for some parts (mainly the weapon belt) and putting more effort in making this more historical accurate (the breaches). This is my way of telling Ubisoft to continue making awesome games.

I hope you kind of like them .

Thank you very much for liking it . It's actually based on the leaked screens teaser trailer of unity, therefor it isn't accurate compared to the final design. Glad you like it though .

I really don't know, I would like to go there just because of the colder weather, so I can wear the warmer costumes I have, but then again, it's very far from where I live XD.

We will see .

DangerCloseArt [2014-04-26 00:41:56 +0000 UTC]

I'm definitely getting a great historical vibe from seeing the entire outfit, now especially here from the front. Β The only thing I think we're all waiting for is any kind of iconic gadgets the new Assassin might have. Β I wouldn't have a clue as to what it would possible be either... So far Conner's hawk and Edwards dual cutlasses fit perfectly. I'm thinking Ubisoft should bring back the shortblade again IMO.Β

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Trujin In reply to DangerCloseArt [2014-04-26 11:15:05 +0000 UTC]

Well some kind of sniperrifle would be cool too. Or maybe some better gear to parkour through the city.

They are talking about wallruns, which would be pretty cool ^^.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

DangerCloseArt In reply to Trujin [2014-04-27 03:55:04 +0000 UTC]

Something long range would be awesome, especially for the crowded 18th century French architecture. Β However, it might be tough, considering the rifled musket wasn't around for another 50 or so years. Β

Wallrunning would add a new dynamic for sure, especially along those store fronts we've seen ever since ACII (instead of just hopping and swinging from their scaffolding/flagpoles/signage/etc lol). Β Something even like wallhopping/ninja climbing such as what they've been able to implement in Titanfall would not only give the new Assassin a new sense of speed, but be hella fun. Β

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Trujin In reply to DangerCloseArt [2014-04-27 18:59:03 +0000 UTC]

That's not true, they had rifled muskets way before, atleast since the revolutionary war of America. They just didn't use them much because the black powder of that time jammed the rifle barrals really quick. Though there were some divisions/groups in the army who specialised in rifled muskets and did manage to take out lot's off Brittish soldiers.

You might have confused this with percussion caps. These things replaced the flintlock system and made it easier to reload.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

DangerCloseArt In reply to Trujin [2014-04-27 21:34:02 +0000 UTC]

I was thinking more along the lines of mass produced military rifles, otherwise after looking up some stuff, rifling doesn't seem to be commonplace for the standard soldier until the 19th century. Sharpshooters did use rifling it appears as far back as the Seven Years War such as what you described in special units... That I didn't know haha. Β So for an Assassin, a character who gets all the trinkets of the age, that would fit by the time of the Revolution. Huh, interesting.

But apparently, rifled musket load times were obnoxious (even when compared to the smooth bore). And due to how armies fought--in large heaping lines and firing through dense swafts of blackpowder smoke--accuracy was never a priority. Β So I guess smooth bore muzzle loaders were "good enough" for their role at the time, since really the only thing that mattered was fire-rate (which would ultimately lead into a bayonet charge anyways)...at least until the integrated cartridge, Maxim and Gatling were brought into the picture, making the formed rank bayonet charge mostly obsolete...and therefore the Pike sized smooth bore musket useless. Β And then we get the calamity of "technology meets outdated tactics" that was the US Civil War... and so on and so forth

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Trujin In reply to DangerCloseArt [2014-04-28 21:14:59 +0000 UTC]

Haha, so true.

But back to the point: rifled sniper muskets are possible in the AC universe.

And looking at the time Kenway takes to reload his 4 guns, I'm totally not affraid of reloading times in Unity .

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

DangerCloseArt In reply to Trujin [2014-04-28 22:25:23 +0000 UTC]

Oh yea! what was up with those quick reloads? Poor Conner had to reload each of his individually. Β Gameplay over accuracy, amirite? Not always a bad thing I guess.Β

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Trujin In reply to DangerCloseArt [2014-04-28 22:36:11 +0000 UTC]

No not really concidering a normal ship would take about 30 minutes to turn 180 degrees and about 3/5 min to reload .
