My goodness.
This reminds me of a world which I imagined called "Mettalia" - a world made from broken ships from an inter-civilisation war in a nebula. There are metallic spires everywhere, rising out of a sea of molten "neometals" (metals which cannot be classified under the boundaries of the Periodic Table). It's a few hundred kilometres in diameter, and people live in the spires (around three too five metres thick and between two and five kilometres tall). They have constructed a minimalist society and have built bridges between the spires for ease of access. These former pilots grow their own food, build and repair the spires around them and embark on small projects. There is no such thing as money; everything is down to a subjective kind of value, allowing people to transcend and live well simultaneously.
Us robots have great imaginations, don't we?

EVE Online day 2 - I discover a planet overflowing with lava. I set up mining shop and leave. I come back the next day and get a notice in the mail saying my system has been annexed. I rush back to my planet and I'm all like "wtf my planet!" and it get a "solar system has been annexed. Grab your last haul and dismantle your facility." I got my minerals and leave.
