What did you use the 3d model for? Did you just use it for the shape, did you use the lighting and/or did you use its diffuse texture?

I used the 3D model as a base. It had nice abstract shapes. I painted that over. I can post a work in progress on my blog so you can see! The ship had no texture and just the basic red blue lighting. So I did most of the work in Photoshop!
