A beautiful sense of depth & personally I think your spirals look like little sea creatures swimming around lazily, without a care in the world just enjoying their beautiful ocean.

This type of art is so interesting. I'm trying to understand how it could be made with photoshop because I've never seen it before.
It seems to me that you're using something else other then photoshop. Maybe you didn't even use any software at all, or maybe you did and it takes insane amounts of mathematical input.
This art is gorgeous and I'd like to know more about it.

Thanks, actually most of the work was done with Ultra Fractal [link] for this one, knowledge of some math helps but it isn't absolutely necessary. The computer does most of the calculating stuff.

Have you heard about this Japanese graphic novel called "Uzumaki"?
You should look into it. It's basically the next Ring movie, but it's got to do with a town cursed by spirals. It's not that scary but... well, actually some parts which are supposed to be scary are quite hilarious.

I'll have to totally check it out. I'm not the greatest fan of manga and anime, though, some of my top favorite movies happen to be things like Akira, Princess Mononoke, Ninja Scroll...Etc...

I also think of the sea when I look at this picture. Perhaps because the white and blue for the froth and waves, while the orange is a sunset... Or perhaps I'm reading too much into it

I don't know if this is a compliment but I coulda sworn it was a painting. Thumbnails. But the colors are so cooooool. I love the orange, it just wouldn't be as great if you'd tried to do this without it.
