Casey's biggest concern isn't April or girls in general, it's ice hockey. I think Casey does have a little crush on April, but he's smooth about it and he doesn't need her. For example, he flirts with April sometimes, but he doesn't fear losing her, like Donnie does.
And also, when Donnie and Casey have like a death glare moment, Casey isn't driven by that for love of April or anything, while a big reason Donnie is, is because he views Casey as a threat.
