Description Ah yes, I know exactly what is going to happen to this, why do I keep unintentionally making EOE character basis, anyway.

This is the 1906 Precursor Tank, and its what it says on the box, a tank engine version of the Precursor Class express engine, with a total of 50 engines, not quite the 130 examples of the engines they were named after, being built between May 1906 and April 1908. Okay now for a lazily copied bit from Wikipeadia.

Due to their weight, the Precursor Tanks were unable to operate on some branch lines, but had primarily been designed for use on heavy suburban trains. Initially, they were put to work on local services between Sutton and Birmingham, and also between Watford and London Euston. In 1921, they were reported as being employed on the latter to the near-total exclusion of other locomotive types, as well as on other routes. 1572, which was possibly one of the earliest locomotives to have the initials "L&NWR" on its sides replaced by "LMS", was noted to be working on the Morecambe Branch in 1923.

The first withdrawal was in October 1927 with No. 6825, former LNWR 1536, the last being two engines, in February 1940, with engine No.'s 6824, & 6790, former LNWR No.'s 1523 and 97 respectively.

Forms, both boiler variations, with Ramsbottom Safety Valve and Two washout plugs, and Ross Pop and Four Wash out plugs. or are the something else, I'm not sure.
