Prismacolor is the only kind of coloring pencils I use.

By the way, if your family already has a pet flying squirrel, hamster, rabbit, etc. would you advise getting a dog/cat, too?

thats the only ones i use, if i don't have a color i'll use what ever i have around the house but meh..

you have to be careful with what kind of dog you get, most if gotten early can be trained to leave the other animals alone.. cat..can't really train them

I don't like dogs period & no matter what size they are, you should never let your guard down. ESPECIALLY if you've got other pets like my flying squirrel or a hamster, etc. My family does not seem to understand that.

you have to raise them right, my dog i would trust her with anything even a new born why? because i have trained her well enough that if i make a single noise she backs off.

Read my newest journal. I'm very worried & scared for Faust. My family thinks it's JUST because I don't like dogs.

you do have alot of it wrong, there are hundreds of families that own birds, rabbits, hamsters that also have hunting dogs or just dogs in general and they dogs never harm the other animals even if they are left alone with the animal.

it's all in the breed, their temperament, and how you raise them.

my golden retreiver is a natural born hunting dog, you know the only thing she would kill? flies... that was it. yes she would chase squirrels but that was it.. she would chase never harm the animal.

our black lab one again another natural born hunting dog, see a squirrel outside she'll look at it be like eh.. and go off and pee in the yard and go look for something to roll in. the only animal she will play with? our cats..or my husband.. but even then she can be outside with us and she see's a cat she will look at us, look at the cat, look at us and if we say no she forgets the cat was even there and goes off to walking around the yard. now if we say go get it she will run up to the cat and stop about a foot away and just stand there looking at the cat her tail wagging and thats it.

in her 8 years of life she has never once attacked a smaller animal NEVER. but she is also a large breed dog, those are the gentle dogs, you start looking at a small dog that is where you start getting the aggressive.

you have to look at the breed of the dog and you have to teach them what is off limits and if you get a breed that is family protective.. you teach the dog that these animals are part of the family

Faust has a huge cage to hide in thankfully. Sorry if I ranted. The dog my mom was thinking of getting was a puppy of the small breed. Let's just say that I've had a few bad experiences with dogs. Not the kind where I got hurt though, but still bad.

tell her to stay away from small breed dogs, those are more agressive to little animals. and frankly they are annoying as hell

do you know what breed she was looking at?

I agree that when it comes to dogs, the small ones are worst & definitely annoying as hell. I don't remember what breed she was looking at, I just know that it was a small breed. She did change her mind about getting a dog though (THANK GOD). She was a little hesitant because like me, she was worried about Faust. She didn't know how the two would react to each other. I made sure to tell her that I doubted that they'd get along, especially if the dog was a small breed. My dad & bro are angry with me though. My dad called me selfish & my bro still thinks that I'm anti JUST because I don't like dogs when in reality, I'm worried about Faust. Instead of a dog, my mom's getting a laptop.

the one thing your parents have to keep in mind, most small dogs are small because they were bread down to be rodent hunters. so those are the ones i would be more worried about actually going after your squirrel then the bigger breeds.

if you want a nice gentle dog you go for seomthing in the labs, or a golden.. or better yet a newfoundland or a irish wolf hound. while labs and goldens are more hyper active you go with an irish they will scare off thieves just by their sheer size but they are the gentlest dogs i have ever met!

When it comes to dogs, if she could get one (but can't due to my & Faust's precences), she'd get a small dog. However, she wants a laptop instead now.

I WISH, but if I did that, he'd probably kick my ass out of the house. I'm 21, but I'm probably only able to stay at home due to my seizures. I have no word in the matter because I'm a "Guest".
