Rarity got Twilight peeved cuz of her gala dress was changed. So Twilight spoofed herself to the land of Fire seas, with fire ponies who granted her immortality with the other newbies. --------------------------
Rainbow goes looking for Twilight and stumbles to the Fire seas protected by Twilight.
"Who Are You!" Twilight Yells.
"R-r-r-rainbow Dash...."
" What do you need!?"
" Twilight sparkle.."

Having only just found your gallery, I'm a bit late into this, but I immediately thought that Twilight had been sent on a quest by Celestia into these volcanic lands in which she needed a magic spell to survive. So for now, Twilight is a Fire Unicorn who can swim in lava if she wanted to do so.
