UPDATE: I took the suggestions of many people and modified a few areas. No more distant mountains. Ocean is more realistic. Added more details in the clouds and stars. Increased the size of Spyro's wing. Removed excess tears. Changed Cynder's Eye. Changed perspective on Spyro's rear. Improvement?This first started as a doodle. Didn't mean to finish it.

Just a doodle that turned out great. Didn't think of any background story to this. However I have a writer making me a mini story based off of this pic. Should be awesome because he is extremely good at making stories.

Ver excellent work. However, one suggestion, Cynder's mouth seems a little too static, though Spyro's is fitting, hers doesn't convey the emotion it seems you're trying to present, maybe making her expression look more pained, or even a smile that Spyro is comforting her.
Anyway, very good work! I love it other that Cynder's mouth, it just bugs me a bit. But you're a great artist!

Hmm, yeah it does look a little static. I was trying a subtle expression that still conveyed the emotion very well. Full out crying with mouth wide open would clash too much.

True, but I'd suggest making it more of a frown, not wide open but enough to tell she's sad.

Yeah, it looks better! (I just realized that part of my problem with Spyro's size, was I missed his golden stomach against the ground, so... Sorry! xD) THe only thing I would say is Spyro's mace seems small, and his muzzle seems big, but again, that's just me if no one else mentioned them, so... What do I know?! XD

Eh probably. I just didn't like the mountains, they were just sitting on top of the ocean...like they were floating. Next time I try that I should take references.

References are good if you don't know how to draw a good landscape. In my early videos you can see I used references.

Then I'll do it this way.
Everything in the pic is lovely. How every tree is different from the other, the waves in the ocean, the sky, the emotion in both Spyro and Cynder... Everything. There's only one point I could say and that is that I miss the shimmering effect the sun should have on the waves, but that is only very minor. It is a fantasy world, after all. You should decide if you want to go for realistic yourself.
I swear this to everyone, your skill is truly something to be jealous at - in a good way, of course.

I'm faving this version as well as your last version because both are gorgeous. 8D I love the open ocean in this one though, makes the scene less 'busy' by a lot.

No worries, it still looks awesome. I was just thinking, that background for stars should be a little bit brighter. It looks like below the clouds it's daytime (it's late daytime, but still); and above them - suddenly goes nighttime.

wow, awesome and romantic. you got the cliched sunset that everybody loves for a romantic meeting, you got cynder crying into spyro's shoulders, their tails are doing some tailsie(variation of foostie), and spyro's wing over cynder. love it
