It's Gumbo the alligator!
I did the background in an Impressionist style this time, and it is a fun method to layer colors over each other in that way.
Done in acrylic.

This is lovely! Your acrylic technique is really great here with all the bright colours being juxtaposed, but not getting muddy. I also really like the texture of the canvas showing through.

I used a thick layering of different colors and dabbed them on rather than blending on a lot of the canvas which I think helped keep the painting bright rather than too muddy.

This is so sweet. I really like how you can feel the heat haze and hear the buzzing of insects, through the light and bright colour scheme and strong contrast used.

My gosh, I love Impressionism! Hee, I wouldn't think Gumbo to be a character who could suit the artstyle, but he looks awesome in it. Looks like he's gonna have some good eatin' tonight!
