For the MLP Arena's Top Customizer Contest, assignment 5:"Fuzzy Wuzzy was a...poneh??
The ponies loved their new outfits, but they're still growing a longer coat for winter- help them!! This assignment requires you to give the ponies extra hair- your options- flocking, sculpted hair/hooves, rooting hair/fur. "
The ultimate in fuzzy ponies! Bashkir curlies are know for their thick, curly winter coats. So I thought it would be perfect for this challenge. Because of my total lack of sculpting skills (plus sculpting the hair textures would have taken me weeks if I used apoxie), I looked around online @ custom Breyer models for inspiration. Textures were made with modeling paste & a toothpic. The stuff is actually really flexible, so I had to take a little extra care when rehairing. I could have made the texture a little more defined, but I think they still looks pretty neat. Painted in acrylics, & rehaired in DollyHair curly nylon Apricot Mousse??? (it was an unlabled bargain bag). All in all pretty happy with the effect.
