I love this comic but I hated myself for drawing it so badly before!!
also kanji's hair is yellow even in the flashback bc otherwise it'd be hard to tell who he is since there's no canon design for his younger self. stop asking.

my nan had a sewing machine 'burst' on her, the back shot off and smoke billowed out

In hindsight, I am beginning to wonder if Atlus is trying to turn Kanji into some kind of adorkable Chuck Norris figure?

I love that third panel! Little boy Kanji in tears is just so adorable! 
The only critique is very minor: Mrs. Tatsumi's sleeves would not be long like that. Those furisode sleeves are reserved for single women; when women get married, the sleeves of their kimono are sewn short (no draping). But that is a very, very minor nitpick.
