There's actually a sensible reason why she cuts if you say yes. In Japanese, the word for pretty is Kirei. However, it sounds very close to the word for cut (kire). Hence, if you answer yes, she takes it to mean that you want to be cut up.

wow,i have never heard this legend before!!i am agreed that sounds quite creepy,but is odd that reminded me of anime The Hell Girl.Something more,"The Slit-Mouth Woman"remind me of concrete Jigoku Shoujo Character-there it was a woman wearing kimono who served Enma Ai.Yeah,maybe the association isnt properly,but she too looked little creepy.

you know there were some occurrences where there would be some women with slit faces murdering children and young adults in Japan a few years ago. >_> dunno if it's true or not but I heard it from wikipedia and some other sites as well.

Yup. Its pretty detailed concering japanese folklore, but also concerning western folklore too. Quite interesting from my perspective. Its most assuridly one of the best of the series to buy.
