Ohhh wow it does lol
So I just got my keys for MMF2 and the Flash exporter and just testing if it works like this. ouo
Everything here is just for testing purposes, nothing is yet optimized for gameplay or anything because the purpose was to make things work.
Box physics broke when I added multiple of them on the field so I still need to work on that. I stopped working on this whole thing sometime in last month because I couldn't add more plugins in the demo version.
There's still way too much to work on and changes/additions I'm planning to call this anything yet. One major change I'm planning is to make all physics values etc modifiable at any time. (aka you can change friction, air friction, speed, jump strength, multiple jump counters etc. at any time)
The only reason I uploaded it like this was to see if it works in flash.
Not all features are possible in the flash version either (such as zooming the game to 2x2 pixel level), though I just got it so there may be workarounds.
edit2:
Oh, also press F for a menu/pause screen
edit3:
Just to clarify, the dummy uses a movement/physics engine that's build into Multimedia Fusion (the application this game was made in), so I have very little control over it's functions. It's there only to compare it's movement up/down the slopes because it's tricky to implement to a custom movement system. (as you can see you currently can't move up slopes without jumping
edit4:
I have stopped developing this for various reasons and released the latest build as an "open source" in the form of a Multimedia Fusion 2 .mfa file. There's a whole bunch of changes and additions, most importantly moving smoothly up and down slopes. You can get it here: [link]
You will need Multimedia Fusion 2 to open it though.

oh wow,
you wouldn't mind sharing what I have to do to make this happen?
I would love uploading MMF2 demos on Deviantart.

No I figured it out nvm At least how to move and stuff. I don't know what the other controls are... and is there an objective to this game?

Ohh XD No there's not really anything to it, this was just a test to see if the game works in Flash. :>

XD Thanks! The cubes are not supposed to be there though, they're just there until I can make some images/animations for it.

Aye. The physics are quite amusing. You program the engine yourself or use a preexisting one?

I did it myself, the purple dummy is using a preexisting movement/physics engine though.

It's not bad at all! I take it you've been programming stuff for a bit?

Tsunoflare In reply to chaoman [2011-07-07 22:37:51 +0000 UTC]
Thanks! And well yes and no.
I used multimedia fusion some years ago to make really, REALLY bad games with my friends for fun, but beyond that I've only made a couple tiny applications.
Multimedia fusion is a GUI operated program so I don't know if I can take the credit for "programming". So far it's been like this at worst: [link]
That's something I did today and isn't in the game above though.

Ah. Cool stuff. I've actually heard of it, but haven't used it myself. seems like a pretty good program. We just got into unity at school, but only touched on it for one class. Hoping to get to look at it more, as it seems easier to use than XNA or Unreal.

Tsunoflare In reply to chaoman [2011-07-08 09:39:43 +0000 UTC]
Well it is a good little program in the sense that you don't really need programming experience, but it's still powerful enough to make a lot of different things. :>
That sounds cool. :> I'm personally really inexperienced with any kind of 3d stuff but I think it would be interesting to try, even though I can't code.

If you want to learn coding, you can try learning through some scripts like action script. LSL2 is good, and you can learn really fast with it, but you'll need to either get the compiler or head to second life to use it. (Actually, it's not bad, just gotta keep to pg and mature areas!) I've used lsl2 for class projects before. Teachers seem to really like it for some reason.

I tried to get familiar with C++ but I got bored pretty quickly. XD I just wanted to know how to use images and how to interact with them but I never seemed to find any help in this regard. I know I need to know other things first but I still wanted to know how to do all this.

chaoman In reply to Tsunoflare [2011-07-08 22:22:12 +0000 UTC]
Aye, images are actually not super hard in C++, but still kinda irritating to new users. Anywho, what do you like to do the most in making games?

Tsunoflare In reply to chaoman [2011-07-09 09:13:18 +0000 UTC]
It could be I'd just actually need to do something, because I never used any kind of compiler. I just looked for answers.
I'm not sure actually. >w> I like to make new little features. I guess my favorite so far was the one I showed a screenshot of, it overrides the camera's function to follow the player and smoothly moves it into desired coordinates.

Ah, cool stuff. I like making various combat systems for games. It's rather fun, and you can do all sorts of weird stuff. Personally though, I like designing characters and drawing 2d stuff. Meshes and texturing too

I haven't gotten into making graphics yet, but I'm somewhat familiar with spriting from making my DA avatars and other stuff. :> I'm yet to decide if I want to make pixel-graphics for this game or something finer. Also I haven't really gotten into combat yet. XD I need to figure out multi-physics first before starting with anything like that. I have some ideas for the techniques though.

Sweet. Depending on the game, you can just use what you already know to make art graphics for 2d games. just depends on what you want to make If you need any help, let me know and I'll try to help.

Nyaah I never got jumping to work in flash, and now I don't have flash to make my own scripts with :C There were plenty of tutorials that gave me a script for jumping, but none of them bothered to explain HOW it worked... @.@ But this is looking promising :3 Keep up the good work!

Tsunoflare In reply to ZaneZandell [2011-07-06 20:44:43 +0000 UTC]
XD Well I don't know at all either, I made this with Multimedia Fusion and exported into flash with an extension.
And yeah it's much better to understand how it works instead of just copypasting it there. I had problems getting started with this because I didn't understand how fastloops(used in physics etc) work. I could make it work but didn't understand what was the concept behind it.

Reading through your description, I've realised you've been using MMF2, that's why everything felt rather familiar.
I'll send you a PM as I've been involved with MMF2 a fair bit. Maybe we can share experience.
