Kamitsune General InfoKamitsune Facts
A blend of mystical elementals and fox spirits (Kitsune), Kamitsune are naturally carefree, curious and playful creatures who reside in all corners of the world. It is said they are descended from the Elemental Gods (Kami) themselves. This is where they get their name.
Kamitsune feed of a variety of emotions. They favour humans above all else, as their range of emotions varies dramatically and it is upon these emotions or "Essences" that Kamitsune feed on. The greater and more significant of an emotional reaction they get, the better the Essence and the stronger they become for a longer period of time. Each variation of an Essence, if taken in larger quantities, gives them a different sort of "high" or feeling that differs from Kamitsune to Kamitsune. Because of this, some of them only feed off of one or two particular Essences and as such, their tactics for evoking those emotions can sometimes be a bit on the dramatic and drastic <----find out more in this journal here!

Kamitsune survive and feed off of Emotions, harvested from other creatures. They favour humans above all else, as their range of emotions varies dramatically and it is upon these emotions or "Essences" that Kamitsune feed on.

There are two types of Kamitsune; The Angea and the Devi. Angea are True Spirit Kamitsune, meaning they are the natural, regular forms, while the Devi are fallen Angea, tainted and darkened with the harsher Essences they've drained from humans, other Kamitsune and all other life.

They live in a parallel realm called the Spirit World, separated from the Human World by a thin sheen of magic only visible to the Kamitsune. Though there are tales of special, "Touched" humans who have on occasion seen it. This barrier is known as The Veil, and the Kamitsune have the ability to easily slip back and forth between the two worlds.

The Spirit World contains a vast number of Spirit cities and various regions that the Kamitsune call home, and as there are a countless number of these cities, the dress and religions and customs are just as varied between the Kamitsune as they are the Humans.

There is a massive central city called Spiral, located on a floating island above the land in the East, where the Devi Ruling family reside. This floating island is locked off from any Angea, but Devi may freely come and go via portals in other cities in their lands.

Devi are created one of two ways. The first is by causing an Angea to "fall", meaning the Angea becomes corrupted and they physically change. This method tends to yield the more "evil" and "insane" Devi. The second, is by natural birth. Over the years, Devi began repopulating their numbers naturally, by breeding and giving birth to their own children. Devi who are born instead of corrupted are more often than not, gentler and more open in nature than their fallen brethren.

Devi can only breed with Devi. Angea can only breed with Angea.

Body Types vary in size and shape. Be creative and have fun! The Young Adult and older females typically stand anywhere from 4'5" to 5'7", though there are some exceptions (some shorter, some taller) particularly in the older ones. Males range from 5'5" to some well over 7'0" tall.

They have 5 clawed fingers, but only 4 toes!

Their "fur" (with the exception of the tail) is really more like skin than fluffy fur, like peaches: skin with very fine silky softness! The fur tufts on shoulders, elbows and legs are fairly common, but are totally optional if you'd rather a more sleek look for your babe!

Kamitsune do NOT have muzzles, or snout shaped faces. They have human shaped faces and a variety of nose shapes. Though they are humanoid in this respect, they are not classified Kemonomini, as they are not just "humans with ears and a tail". They are otherworldly creatures and their colourings reflect this.

Kamitsune are inherently magical beings, capable of immense talent. Each individual is born to a specific Element, but can learn from any other Elemental so long as they have a willing Teacher.

YOU get to choose their spells!

When it comes to Elemental Crystals that orbit their tails, by default, I draw plain circles, however YOU get to choose their actual shape! Crystal shapes can be anything you want, personalized to your own Kamitsune! However, they are always the same colour as their element and Tail Halos unless you purchase a Transmogrification to change what they are made out of!

Halos, Elemental Crystals and wing fox-fire are always the same colour as their chosen Element.

As a default, ALL Kamitsune have "Shapeshift I", this does not need to be recorded on your profile.

Like Angea, all Devi have Small sized wings as default, no matter what type of wings they have. They must still use the Augmentation spells or Transmogrification in order to change their shapes.

Wing colours can be anything you like!

Horns are made of bone, and can be any colour you choose. The most common colours though, are black, grey, white or purple, but any colour is acceptable. They typically grow from either the forehead or the top of the head. Either is fine!

About Tails:
Tails range in size and length, as well as number. Their number indicates age and strength, while length and fluffiness is just in their breeding and personal grooming habits. Some like to keep their tails long and sleek, some prefer to fluff their tails instead. Fluffiness and length are subject to your personal tastes!

Tails and ears can be very expressive and more often than not, their tails are constantly moving, flicking, wagging, and swaying!

Number of Tails:
1-2: Uncommon - Juvenile (Age range: 0-49 years of age)**
3-4: Common - Young Adult (Age range: 50-249 years of age)**
5-6: Rare - Adult (Age range: 250-499 years of age)**
7-8: Legendary - Mystic (Age range 500+ years of age)**
9: Epic - Sage (Age range 700+ years of age)**

**Age Ranges are approximate for Maturity and Ageing. It is possible for a Kamitsune younger than 250 to have 5 or even 6 tails if they work hard enough, or one younger than 500 to have 8 or 9 tails. It really all depends on how dedicated to their studies they are. However, it is expected, that by their 250th year that they have reached their 5th tail as their coming of age into Adulthood, and anyone over the age of 500 is expected to have no less than 8 tails, as it is a sign of their age, wisdom and power.

Additionally, sometimes an Adult or older may only have 1 or 2 tails as they simply do not care for the studies needed to earn new tails. These adults more often than not prefer Rune tattooing instead to gain new powers. Rune tattoos can be acquired here: Magi Specialist Classes

About the Eyes and Misc
Eyes, inside of mouth, kit nose and paw pads do not need to match, unless you want them to. You may use any colour combo you'd like!

Sectoral Heterochromia adds 1 level of rarity to the eye type. For example, if one has the common slit type eye, adding Sectoral Hetrochromia would then make their eyes an Uncommon trait instead.

What is sectoral heterochromia? In this case, it is when the outer half of the eye is one colour, and the inner half of the eye is a secondary colour! Like this:

Any other type of Heterochromia is considered a Mutation, and adds an additional level of rarity to the Eye Type on top of that! For example, if one has the uncommon star shaped eye, adding sectoral heterochromia changes their eyes to RARE, then changing to ANY OTHER type of heterochromia then makes their eye type LEGENDARY.
