Description My last attempt at a FAMAS was quick and sloppy, so here is my official model of the FAMAS, created in Blender 3D (v 2.63). What you see here is a highpoly and lowpoly model rendered with baked ambient occlusion. I wanted to get this submitted to make sure people were fine with the new model before I moved on to texturing.

6,800 polys for weapon to the game is not low...
Still very nice model.

Really? I heard that most games can run with over 6000 polys. I think it would run fine, unless you have a source that says otherwise

depends on a game... TPP games like Gears of War whole char with weapons has like up to 12k polys in FPP where most important is a weapon, gun has more polys but not as that much in CoD:MW3 weps have 1,5k - 3k polys.

It's worth noting that these games were made with consoles in mind, which are running on 7+ year old technology. Chris Roberts and his team are making a game called Star Citizen for PC only, and the character model alone, without any peripherals, is 100k polys, and the smaller space ships have around 350k (The battle cruiser has ~7 mil, I believe), which is why I say that 6k isn't bad. I should have clarified that my focus would be to make PC games, not console games.

I'd say a grip in a low-poly mesh is a little bit blocky... But that's just me probably ^^

Wait, reading your comment a second time, did you mean it SHOULD be blocky, similar to BL2's?

Nah, I mean, I don't know Famas well, but i think it's grip is a bit more round. Anyway, that's just how I imagine a weapon grip should be. But I don't have a good ref to tell for sure
