NOTES
The first stop for our ship, the Japanese-Canadian Supramarine Command Vessel Frobisher-Tanaka, is a two star system in wide separation. The larger star, an early M class dwarf, is the main body and has a total of 7 superior planets and 3 dwarf planets orbiting it. All three of its gas giants are home to floating, complex multicellular organisms of standard biology.
Most startling about this moon of the second gas giant named Tar (for its dark colour) is that for a planet not quite the mass of Ancient Earth, it has an atmospheric pressure at sea level of over 850 atm. Seeing as we have a limited number of surface probes and none of them are equipped to deal with such pressures, we have decided to hold off on sending any science packages down to the surface. Remote mapping has revealed liquid hydrocarbon seas and that land dominates the moon's surface.
As for the other terrestrial bodies in the system, only two have a mass that meets the minimum requirements for terraforming. Unfortunately the first is a boiling ocean planet and the second is dominated by frozen hydrocarbons and other volatiles. Other than fuel, this system offers nothing for humanity.
