Everything you do is magnificent, but this, well, it is my absolute favorite work that you've ever done. It is so beautiful, and sweet, and just spectacular, Korra is great, but the feeling that you put into the little spirit is so childlike and innocent, I just love him/her/it.
I kind of had the idea for a story scene that the spirit world just isn't the "spirit world", it is also kind of a holding area for reincarnates, like a public bus stop, but it smells better. Since the spirits aren't human yet because they haven't been born, they kind of wait in the spirit world until they find, or have a feeling of who they want to be their parent. I had a soppy idea that the reason why this little spirit in particular wanted to help Korra so much is that he/she/it has picked Korra, and has been waiting a long time to meet up with her again, and wants her to be its mother at some point. If you look at the Avatar mythology, it gleefully explains that friendships and loves can transcend lifetimes, if so, that can just as easily apply to a child as it would a friend or lover, so why not?

When it came to drawing 'The Little Spirit Guide', all I felt was love and happiness.
Although, the little spirit wasn't in the remaining episodes of the Legend of Korra,
the spirit played a very important role. The spirit showed Korra to her path,
when she thought all was lost. It may have been days or months since the spirit
and Korra's first meeting. And after all that time the spirit followed Korra wanting
to set her back onto her path and help Korra reconnect to Raava.
When I see the little spirit, I think of a small child whose innocent to the world,
but somehow does something that is so touching they just don't know how remarkable it is.
The theory you have is enthralling and sounds like something that would be plausible in the
Avatar series. The spirit world being like a limbo plain for reincarnates never even crossed my mind.
The fact that Uncle Iroh had mentioned friendships and love can transcend lifetimes open even
more theories.

I will admit I'm not a huge fan of Korra. As for the reason why I feel like I'd go on a rant so I'll just stick to the drawing.
